Five Tips For Managing Chaotic Times {FTT29}

While I believe that this information will apply to any of life’s chaotic times, I think it’s specifically relevant right now. We can still find peace and even THRIVE! Remember, our Rock is our foundation that can’t be shaken. Here’s 5 tips for managing things proactively so you don’t feel helpless or risk a slip into survival mode.

1️⃣ Focus on the positive. Don’t allow yourself to consume fear-based info. Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t. Keep a gratitude journal. Find a way to be helpful to others. Make time for laughter & play. Make a list of the things this situation will make possible. Find opportunities within the less than ideal circumstance. Chances are that things we grumbled about 2 weeks ago we’ll never take for granted again.

2️⃣ Start a project. Use this time to study & implement something you’ve always wanted to do or to get done. Organize, declutter, plant a flower or veggie garden, start a blog, learn a new skill (knitting, instrument, etc.), scrapbook, etc.

3️⃣ Find virtual support/connection. Satan will try to use this circumstance to isolate & discourage us. Make sure you stay plugged in with your local church via streaming services. Get more active in a Facebook groups with like-minded women—start one if need be! Use digital sources for workouts if your gym is closed. Set up group zoom calls to chat with friends or have a virtual coffee date with FaceTime. Make sure you use technology to its fullest by engaging in encouraging activities!

4️⃣ Build faith/trust in God. It’s human nature to worry about the unknown, but at Christ followers, we can rest assured that what we don’t know, God does! Spend time in the word, in prayer, talking with others about your spiritual life, in worship, & seeking to know God more. The only way to worry less is to trust Him more. The only way to trust Him more is to truly get more intimate in relationship with Him. Use this time to double down on cultivating an authentic & deep walk with Him.

5️⃣ Call loved ones. Staying in touch & connecting with friends & family is so important. Use this as an opportunity to call & catch up with those you haven’t seen in a while.
