Five Tips For Creating A Highly Effective Day {FTT15}

The Bible tells us to make the most of every opportunity, but what does that really look like in practice? Here are five tips for creating a highly effective day!

1️⃣ Practice a morning routine. Nothing sets your day up for success like starting off on the right foot mentally and spiritually. Spend quality time with the Lord. If you think you don’t have time to start your day in this way because of how busy you are, I would argue you don’t have the time NOT to invest in this way. In the same way that the principle of tithing money works, the principle of tithing time also allows you to do supernaturally more than what you could in your own strength. (For more on morning routines, head here).

2️⃣ Prioritize with purpose. Make sure that you have clarity of focus by outlining which things are absolute necessity to accomplish for the day. Ideally, you will want to attack these things early in the day if possible. Be realistic about how much you can get done. Remember that the to do list will never end, and ask the Lord to give you wisdom to do what He has called you to accomplish that day.

3️⃣ Set a schedule. Plan ahead, but also check in throughout the day to see where adjustments may need to be made. Don’t cram your schedule full trying to do #AllTheThings; make sure to include some margin time for us for seen things popping up.

4️⃣ Sharpen the saw. Spend time in activities which fill your tank and refine you every single day. Exercise / movement is definitely one of these things for me. So is spending time in learning (podcasts, Audible books, webinars, sermons, etc.). These can be productivity boosters if incorporated strategically. When you sharpen the saw, you become more efficient with your work. You are the saw. Sharpen yourself!

5️⃣ Be intentional to give / serve. Nothing gives you a boost of energy like going out of your way to help others. It doesn’t matter who it is; build into the people around you. Not only will it bring you joy, renewed energy, and a sense of purpose, but they will take notice and support you in your goals and dreams as well.
