#75Hard Day 59: Caffeine & Sleep + Secret Tip For The BEST Vanilla Chai Latte
▶️ We are all familiar with the positive effects of caffeine on mood, alertness, and energy, etc.
▶️ Relying on it for maintaining these things is not the best way to go about it. Please refer back to yesterday’s video for tips and explanation of the importance of sleep! I want to cover this topic since in neglected it yesterday.
▶️ When it comes to sleep, caffeine can inhibit our ability to get good rest depending on how close we are to bed and how quickly we metabolize caffeine.
▶️ The half life is different for people and is genetically determined. Half life refers to the amount of time for a substance or medication, in this case caffeine, to be halfway metabolized and cleared from the body.
▶️ If you are a “fast metabolizer” then it will clear more quickly, and if you are a “slow metabolizer” it will clear less quickly. Note that fast and slow metabolizer has nothing to do with metabolism.
▶️ On to the recipe for a #MacroFriendly Vanilla Chai Tea Latte! Brew 2 bags of @twinningsusa Chai (this tea comes in regular, vanilla, apple, pumpkin, and ultra which is my personal favorite!). Add a few drops of @sweetleafstevia vanilla Stevia drops.
▶️ Heat and froth 4-6 oz milk of choice (I use almond) in a milk frother. Here’s the KEY to the sweet foam—add a few packets of sweetener (I use @splenda) to the milk INSTEAD of the tea. #GameChanger
▶️ My personal favorite milk frother which allows you to do cold, warm, or hot milk + foam can be found here.
▶️ A handheld version at a lower price point can be found here.
