Five+ Scripture-Based Tips For Boosting Immunity {FTT}

Something a little different this week for #FiveTipsTuesday. I know that we are all being very diligent right now to do whatever we can to boost our immune system and guard against illness. How many of us are being as diligent to guard ourselves spiritually right now? For myself personally, and many who have reached out, this chaotic event has served as a reminder to focus on things that outlast this lifetime. Remember that God is our Healer and Protector, both spiritually and physically. Here’s 5+ scripture-based tips to help us be as diligent with our spiritual well-being as we are with our physical health. Fun Bonus: each of these correlates to evidence-based immunity-boosting practices for our physical bodies as well!

Rest. “He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.” Psalms 23:2

Nourishment. “Your words were found and, I feasted on them; and they became my joy, the delight of my heart, because I belong to you, Lord God of heavenly forces.” Jeremiah 15:16

Hydrate. “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 14:4

Train. “For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8

Meditate. “Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on God’s law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” Psalms 1:1a, 1-3

Sanitize. “Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].” James 4:8

“Son”light. “Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light that gives life.” John 8:12

Laugh. “A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing.” Proverbs 17:22a

Joy. “Do not be worried, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and your stronghold.” Nehemiah 8:10

Positivity. “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.” Isaiah 40:31
