#75Hard Day 30: A Challenge—3 Things To Get Body Change Results
▶️ If you’ve been having trouble following through on your intentions for body comp change, I want to submit to you a new approach. I challenge you to do 3 specific things every day for the next 30 days. For those of you who love the fresh start which comes with the new month, then today is your day 😉
▶️ Those 3 specific things are: Log your food intake, track your steps, and feed your mind.
▶️ There’s nothing magical about logging your food intake, but then again there is. It makes you automatically aware, which is the start to improvement. If you see areas which could get better you are more likely to act on them. But I am not even asking you to do that; I’m only asking you to log your food intake and to log it accurately. I’m not even asking you to try to meet a specific target, just log. You can use a app on your phone or a good old-fashioned paper and pencil, but it must be written or logged in some referenceable capacity.
▶️ Track your step count. Awareness again is the key. Monitor how much movement you get and which days of the week are higher and lower. Again, you can use this as a motivation to improve on your lower count days, but as with food intake, I’m not even asking you to do that; simply log. Wearable step counters (like a Fitbit) that sync to your phone are the most accurate, but a pedometer will work if you’re just getting started and can’t afford a more expensive device. Tracking minutes is ok, but unfortunately won’t account for steps outside of formal exercise time.
▶️ Feeding your mind can be done in a variety of ways. I ask that you spend quiet time with the Lord to feed your spirit, but beyond that, how you choose to feed your mind is up to you. Listen to podcasts, sermons, read a book, watch a Ted talk, etc. Anything that expands your knowledge and exposes you to new ideas is fair game here.
▶️ Ask the Lord to use these 3 things on a daily basis to do a work in you and on you. I think you’ll be surprised at the results.
▶️ If you do this, I suggest that you take measurements, weigh, and take progress pictures in advance with an expectation of improvement.
▶️ I’d love it if you report back to me in 30 days with what happened!
