Molten Chocolate Lava Shake!
🌋 🍫 Yup you read that right!
I know you have heard of a molten chocolate lava cake before… Rich chocolate cake and a gooey undercooked center. Well, this shake is similar, only in frozen form!
Whether it is chocolate or another flavor, this is my all-time favorite way to eat my protein smoothies/shakes. It is like eating ice cream! Simply blend up like usual, then pour into a bowl and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour. After leaving it in there for a bit, it will be frozen on all sides, but still liquid in the center! Crack the top and eat with a 🥄
The hubby and I are trying to plan a trip to Hawaii in January, so this seems like a fitting recipe to post at the present time. Serious question though… why is planning a relaxing vacation so stressful? Or is that just me? We basically just want an all inclusive type thing with freedom to plan activities as we feel like it from what they offer thought the resort. We are wanting somewhere around 10-14 days (since you lose 2 just for travel to and from) so that we end up with at least a week of actual vacation time. You wouldn’t think it would be so complicated, but all the different websites are so confusing and a travel agent is $$$$. If anyone has tips, we will be glad to take them! We have never done this type of vacation before or planned a budget this big for a trip, so we don’t want to mess it up and have spent a chink of change for a disappointing trip. Update: Right now we are leaning toward this package deal and the Sheraton Waikiki.
Gah… I need some chocolate… or just a spoon and one of these shakes!
Molten Chocolate Lava Shake:
- 3 ounces frozen banana
- 10 ounces ice cubes
- 4 ounces cashew milk
- one serving (8g) Metabolic Effect Craving Cocoa*
- one scoop (25-30g) protein powder (I like this one or this one)
- 3 tablespoons (15g) Hershey special dark cocoa
Blend until smooth, pour into a bowl and freeze for 30-60 minutes. You can always enjoy ASAP, but I love the result of freezing! Soft inside like a molten chocolate lava cake.
*Craving cocoa is a BCAA and fiber supplement with cocoa and stevia. It adds some sweetness with the stevia and some creaminess with the fiber, but should not change the result much if not used. So, if you don’t have it, you can omit it, or substitute a dry serving of sugar free Jell-O pudding mix (8g) as this would add sweetness and creaminess too.
