Focus on Fundamentals First

When novelty wears off, or things appear (key word appear) as if they are not working, it’s tempting to jump ship for something shiny and new. Have you had these thoughts?

💭 “I just need something different in order to get motivated again!”

💭 “I haven’t seen that before; maybe it will work better—and faster—than what I’m currently doing!”

🙅🏻‍♀️ Sorry to break it to you, but nope!

As for constantly needing something exciting in order to stay invested… When the excitement of something new wears off, you have to be willing to show up anyway. That’s how you create momentum. Instead of relying on motivation—which is not always faithful to show up when you need it—momentum becomes a constant once you develop your rhythm. It will carry you through, even on days you don’t feel like it.

As for not seeing results as quickly as you’d like… Trust me when I say, you don’t need a more “perfect” plan or a “better” protocol. You simply need patience and persistence. There will always be a lag time between implementation and seeing results for your effort. It’s like planting a seed… You can’t expect the plant sprout and fruit to appear all in one day.

This is a lot like school… Just like in the classroom, focus on mastering the fundamentals first. Lay the foundation and earn your right to advance.
