#75Hard day 24: Be Prepared But Flexible In Your Approach
✅ A schedule and plan is key for success. That said, sometimes we throw in the towel if we can’t do things according to our plan.
✅ A lot of times we are disappointed by not being able to follow through on our initial intentions. You need to understand that consistency is better than perfection.
✅ When life throws us the unexpected, we need to be able to make adjustments in the moment that still serve us and help us to meet our goals.
✅ If you can work around your schedule and adjust things to accommodate, great, but if not I understand that your mindset surrounding adjustments will be key!
✅ Something is better than nothing, and consistency demonstrates to prove to yourself that you are sticking to your healthy choices and habits.
✅ It can be helpful to always have a back up plan for certain things where you know you are more likely to get tripped up.
✅ So if your schedule causes you not to be able to do your usual workout, have a predetermined do-anywhere bodyweight workout that you can do instead.
✅ If you end up being too overwhelmed by work or exhausted to meal prep/prepare the healthy meal you had planned, there still a better option than resorting to an unhealthy choice.
✅ Come up with a list of healthy takeout options, or keep your freezer stocked with a few leftover servings of a healthy meal you’ve previously made. When I was still practicing medicine and working in the clinic I would not always have time to meal prep if we had a busy weekend. I had to go to list of takeout options that I would rotate in that event. Steamed chicken, shrimp, and mixed vegetables from a Chinese place, Panera bread salad, etc.
✅ Always keep healthy snacks and on-the-go breakfast options available. Stock your freezer and purse!
