Control What You Can Control

You can’t control everything that happens in your life, but you can control how you respond to it.

Your response dictates the outcome.

If you want to improve the quality of an outcome in any situation positive or negative, the way you respond is critical!

The struggle is that we are not robots. Any given stimulus will produce inherent feelings about what’s taking place. Those feelings – our emotions – are what tend to get us into trouble.

What’s more, we take what often starts as a practical problem and upgrade it into an emotional disturbance. Double trouble as it were by Dr. Kashey’s assessment.

When feelings are generated there are two options:

Respond – You control outcome.

React – You let your feelings control the outcome.

You either master feelings or feelings master you—and your outcomes.

The good news?

If feelings drive action then, by definition, feelings are motivators.

If you master feelings, you master the motivational energy necessary to say YES to being successful.

Instead of letting feelings trigger you, use feelings as a trigger which prompts you to pause, assess, then act on purpose and with purpose!

Take control where you can.

Get support when you need.
