#75Hard Day 64: Chasing Your God-Sized Dream & Purpose

▶️ Hard to summarize this one into bullet points since I really just felt led to share stream of thought today, but I’ll do my best! ▶️ If you take away nothing else from this video, take away this (because it was the Lord, not me speaking): “Stop worrying about the expectations of society and start worrying about the expectations of your God. He’s put gifts and passions and purposes and callings inside of you…If you don’t listen to those, they start to grow quiet and we can get really confused by this place that we find ourselves in where we don’t feel like we are full to the brim, spilling over to those around us.” ▶️ When I talk about things like purpose and passion and calling, understand that I don’t mean it in the buzzword type way that these things have gotten attention from in the last few years. I mean them in the sense of what lights you up and what you are designed to do in service of God and others with your time on this planet. ▶️ We were meant to live for more than the weekend. It makes me so sad to know how many people dread Mondays. I was that person for many years. Despite trying to create opportunities to do the most I could with the positions I was in for designated periods of time, I didn’t find fullness and abundance and knew there was more the Lord was calling me to. ▶️ When I talk about finding the thing that creates fullness and abundant life—life to the full and spilling over as Scripture says—I don’t mean it in a selfish way for our own success. It is not intended that we live from this place so that we are full and satisfied, but rather so that we are overflowing and splashing around to the lives of those around us. We create an impact and give them hope that the purposes the Lord has laid out for them will also come to pass. ▶️ Continued in the comments👇🏼

He’s put gifts and passions and purposes and callings inside of you…If you don’t listen to those, they start to grow quiet and we can get really confused by this place that we find ourselves in where we don’t feel like we are full to the brim, spilling over to those around us.”
▶️ When I talk about things like purpose and passion and calling, understand that I don’t mean it in the buzzword type way that these things have gotten attention from in the last few years.
▶️ What we need to be careful of is blindly following the cultural norm and the “expected” process for the things we are supposed to do / be in life. Things like achieving a certain level of education, getting married by certain age, creating a family in the exact manner that we are accustomed to, getting the best job, etc. If we aren’t intentional to make sure the things we are pursuing are what we truly want, we can end up in a place where we’ve achieved all the things that society says are best, but yet feel something is missing.
▶️ If you feel like there is something missing, what do you do about it? If you aren’t sure what the end goal is, that’s OK! Just start taking action in the areas that you feel a specific burden for. Whether it’s serving a particular type of person or losing track of time when you are meeting needs in a particular type of way, getting started will bring clarity.
▶️ Understand that your God-sized dreams are often literally something that you can’t accomplish on your own. They also often surround a previous pain point or personal weakness. When we have to rely on God to be our Source and to supply the resources, then our accomplishments point back to Him.
