#75Hard Day 41: Your Goal Is Not Actually The Goal
▶️ It’s not about the outcome, it’s about who you become in the process. “You know you’ve arrived with arrival is no longer the goal.” –@jadeteta
▶️ What happens when you actually achieve the goal? You stop. What do you want is to continue to practice lifelong, constantly chasing new means of growth, not a goal with a finish line.
▶️ A lot of times the greatest discoveries are made while engaged in the pursuit of something else. This is very parallel to what can happen with us in the pursuit of our goals if we are open to new possibilities. The greatest accomplishments are often born by accident in the pursuit of something else.
▶️ Weight training was the catalyst for eating healthy. Making changes in those areas which I never could previously gain traction in let me to believe that I could finally get my finances under control and paying off six figures a debt.
▶️ You never know where things might lead or who you might become in the process and that becomes the most exciting part. It becomes an intrinsic motivator which keeps you practicing healthy habits regardless of the goals you set along the way.
▶️ This has implications to our spiritual pursuits as well. One small seemingly insignificant act of obedience to the Lord will often open doors to other possibilities and greater opportunities. While you are on the path to obedience, the Lord will often reveal bigger purposes than you even had in mind!
