“Stop letting people try to recruit you on to their nutrition team. Create your own team.” -Jade Teda
I came across this quote from Jade Teda (one of the founders of Metabolic Effect) on Instagram the other day. I thought it was truth worth sharing.
The only thing you *need* to do is whatever works best for you. Other people have a lot of very useful information. Still, information is only a tool. Tools are usually designed to be used for very specific purposes. The more intricate the process, the more limited is the functional application of a tool. Too often, we take a “one size fits all” approach and attempt to apply it to a very complicated machine—our own body. Then we wonder why it isn’t working.
Want to know the secret to what will get you results? It’s as simple (and as complicated) as finding out what works best for you and doing that. It will take trial and error. It will change with time. It will not look like anyone else’s “best plan.” But it will remove the stress and the pressure and it will work long term.
It’s ok to incorporate and even represent the ideas of people and brands that resonate with you. In my opinion however, you’ll do best when you arrange these ideas into your own unique pattern. Whatever it looks like, live it. Own it. Love it. (#LikeHowYouEat)
P.S. Check out Metabolic Effect for excellent information on all things health, fitness, and nutrition. They also offer some excellent online courses and supplements.
P.P.S. I will have a review of ME’s Craving Cocoa coming your way soon. I will also include a recipe, of course!
(Disclosure: While I hold ME certifications and use/enjoy their products, no affiliate earning links are currently included here).
