Macro Friendly Mondays — Chai Matcha Latte!

This time of year, I start to get excited about all the holiday flavors. I also find myself wanting tea some mornings, rather than coffee. I’ve raved multiple times about my beloved milk frother. Whether it’s coffee or tea, it seriously elevates any home beverage to a coffee house experience! This little concoction is one of my favorites this time of year. It has all the spice of chai, but all the fun depth of matcha! If you try it, let me know what you think!

🍵Brew one bag of chai spice tea (I used Twinnings ultra chai) and let steep 5-10 minutes
🍵Add a 1/2 teaspoon of Matcha powder (I used Mighty Leaf Spiced Turmeric Matcha)
🍵Whisk to dissolve
🍵Microwave to reheat to desired temperature
🍵Meanwhile, froth 3 oz of almond milk with two packets of Splenda in an electric frother on warm setting
🍵When it’s almost done frothing, add a few drops of chai spice Now Foods Better Stevia and a few drops of cinnamon Sweet Leaf liquid Stevia
🍵Once it’s foamy and hot, pour over the tea concoction
🍵Sprinkle with cinnamon

📝 Notes:
❗️Recipe is pretty forgiving. Use your sweeteners of choice, but definitely best with the chai and cinnamon Stevia combo plus the boost of Splenda.
❗️You do need have to have one of those electric milk frothers that can do cold, warm, or hot.
❗️I wait to add the liquid Stevia towards the end because if you add it at the beginning, the milk doesn’t foam quite as much.
❗️If you don’t have the spiced Matcha, you can always use regular and add a tiny pinch of turmeric and ginger powders.
❗️I count Splenda macros in nutrition.
