Why You Should #SweatTheSmallStuff

Do not underestimate the power of making incremental changes. As Dr. Kashey would say, #SweatTheSmallStuff! Little improvements might not be sexy, but they are sustainable… and isn’t that what we are all really after in the end?

Instead of the mindset “go hard or go home,” why not adopt the mindset of “start small, then build?”

Because frankly… You while you technically can “go hard” for a period of time, you can only “go hard” for so long before you can’t keep going at all. So let’s approach this differently shall we? With the intent of eventually being able to do and tolerate harder things rather than just “going harder.”

Here’s how the process works…

Small changes (i.e. manageable actions) implemented consistently become exponentially impactful by means of yielding compounding return (i.e. reps over time make you stronger and you grow to be able to manage and tolerate more).

Little wins also create momentum. Instead of disappointing yourself time after time because you attempt to do more than was realistically feasible, you use realistic means to achieve small wins. These wins become a new string of evidence that solidifies you are capable of following through. You prove that change is possible, your faith in yourself springs to life, and your willingness to try and tolerate more increases.

Here’s where it gets GOOOOD! Consistency + momentum over time creates change that scales! Meaning that, with the “start small and build” approach, it eventually becomes possible to achieve the larger-impact behavior modifications you were initially hoping for (i.e. “going harder” becomes possible because it’s now manageable).
