The Savior’s Heart: Lessons Of Truth From The Gospel Of Mark 📖
This book was not planned. I was actually in the middle of writing my 1st book (which I suppose will now actually be my 2nd!) when I felt the Lord prompting me to pause & write this book. I wasn’t sure I heard Him right, because I knew beyond a doubt that the book I had been working on was something the Lord spoke to me to do. Meaning, it wasn’t just a message I wanted to share, but something that He would view as disobedience if I never followed through on writing it. I wanted to be absolutely certain that I was putting things in order His way, not mine. The more I prayed about it, the more I knew He wanted me to complete this book at the time I did. There’s no other way for me to explain how quickly it came together, other than the Lord’s hand guiding me through the process.
What started out as I step of obedience to walk with someone through a chapter a day in the Bible ended up as more than I ever could have expected. I initially agreed to read chapter by chapter through the book of Mark so that someone I knew could ask questions as she started reading the Bible. Once we begin, I thought it might be helpful to type up & share my commentary with her. I figured since I had gone to all the trouble of writing up the commentary, I might as well share it on my blog. So I did just that—daily for 16 days. By the time I had finished outlining the 16 chapters Mark, it was 25,000 words. It was then that I felt the Lord nudging me to turn this into something more. I reached out to my publisher who encouraged me to run with my idea & make it into a book. He suggested I utilize the same format which I had in mind to turn it into a Bible study, which further confirmed I was hearing the Lord correctly.
Eager to share what the Lord was showing me (& because I knew I needed to resume writing in the other book God clearly told me to!), I set a deadline for myself. Over the course of 12 days, I sought the Lord for wisdom & direction on what to share from the commentary I started with, & He did what only He can do. Within the span of 28 days, the Lord allowed me to pull together over 45,000 words.
I share this to brag on the Lord, not myself and to encourage you to set lofty goals that align with His will, be obedient, then just wait and see what happens!
I will keep you posted as to when the book will be available via Amazon, and in the mean time, I’ll be back to writing What Can Be Gained.
