▶️ The purpose of a recipe is to have consistent inputs and processes that you can follow n order to get predictable good outcomes. ▶️ You nail down all the variables, ingredients, cooking techniques, methods, serving sizes, etc., and are able to duplicate the process for yourself and possibly even for others. ▶️ You can also create the basic structure for a recipe which can be altered to meet the conditions you would like with a few ingredient swaps. ▶️ I like the analogy of having a recipe for your day. ▶️ How do you come up with that recipe? ▶️ When you think about designing your day, first sit down and list all of the things that would make for the best possible experience if you were designing your *ideal* day. ▶️ You may not be able to include all of these every single day, but the idea is to narrow down the things which you can include on a daily basis that will set you up for success and allow you to function at your best capacity. ▶️ So for example, when you list out your ideal day, it may include spending time with your extended family, but this would not be something you could do on a daily basis so it does not go in your recipe. ▶️ Once you have listed all of the things you would include in your perfect day, go back through and select the ones what you can do on a consistent daily basis. These are your “ingredients.” ▶️ For me, these things include morning Bible study and quiet time, prayer time, gratitude journal, exercise/movement of some kind, healthy nutrition, positive interactions with others, creative work, study/growth activities, and sharing what’s going on with others to help them learn and grow. ▶️ You want to come up with a list of things which allow you to have predictable successful outcomes for yourself personally and create a positive impact on the lives of others. ▶️ Your “ingredients” may change over the course of the various seasons of your life, just like you would tweak a recipe. ▶️ @DashingDish protein shakes I mentioned can be found at this link: https://dashingdish.com/recipes/shakes ▶️ What is one ingredient you would include in your recipe for an ideal day?
