In light of the “new year” mentality that is going around right now, I thought I would share some of the best advice I have ever gotten. Because a lot of us may find ourselves planning, but how many of us are actually doing?
“Take more action.” Jill Coleman
Yup… It is that simple (but also, not easy).
PSA: Getting started is the biggest hurdle you’ll encounter. With regard to making positive changes, it can be overwhelming to know where to begin. We want to get it right on the first try, but who of us ever learned anything new as kids without a lot of practice? Can we not grant ourselves the same grace as adults? When you view life in “student mode” it takes the pressure off of taking action.
Failure and success are not separate destinations when it comes to the outcome of your goal(s). They are BOTH part of the same process.
Remember: when you take the perspective of #WinOrLearn, you’ll always grow, and therefore, will always succeed in some regard—even in the temporary setbacks.
What this looks like practically:
Try —> Observe —> Adjust —> Repeat
Get clinical. Remove the pressure. Enjoy the process.
“The only way to “find out if it will work out” is to do it.” –Simon Sinek
