Letâs talk about the elephant in the room. If thereâs a problem big enough to cause a pain point, and the pain point is something you truly want to change, itâs usually only tolerated for one of two reasons… Either itâs decidedly ignored despite causing pain, or itâs not even noticed and understood as the source of the pain.
Back to the elephant in the room. Keep in mind as we unpack the situation, that the elephant is the problem causing a pain point in your life, and the pain point is something you want to change. The elephant⊠Perhaps you know itâs there, but you really donât know how to get rid of it (or you do know how, but the job of doing so seems overwhelming), so youâve just decided to ignore it. Or, perhaps itâs pressing in on you so hard that you donât even notice that the thing youâve face-planted on is a mammal that shouldnât even be there. A good coach can help you see it for what it is, identify possible solutions for how to eliminate it, and then take purposeful action towards doing so in a way that is manageable. As they say⊠âHow do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!â
