#75Hard Day 44: A Vital Tool For Forward Progress
▶️ Introspection and self reflection allow you to understand yourself better, get honest with yourself, hone in on core values, set intentions and priorities for the day, reflect on your day, brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot problems, listen to the Holy Spirit’s promptings, reflect on events when you aren’t so emotional, gain perspective with hindsight, vision and dream cast, and more.
▶️ Part of (good) coaching is leading the client to be able to self-coach and gain the skill of introspection.
▶️ You need to carve out time to do this and for creative time in order to get the most value out of the things you are learning.
▶️ You can read, study, listen to podcasts, and absorb info on #AllTheThings, but you need “processing time” to formulate how to actually apply it to your life and then put a plan into place to implement.
▶️ In a world where we are crazy busy and bombarded with so much noise, dedicated scheduling of reflective time are required for this to actually occur.
▶️ For tips to find this time, see my #FiveTipsTuesday post from today.
▶️ Slow down long enough to gain insight on who you are, what you want, and how to get it. I can promise you that it won’t happen by default. You have to be intentional, otherwise you’ll end up somewhere you DON’T want to be.
▶️ “Do what God’s teaching says; do not just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves.” James 1:22 (Read in context here).
